I am excited to join the new global independent Oversight Board for Facebook and Instagram content as a Board Member. Governments' monopoly over media and information is no longer possible, thanks to social media platforms such as Facebook. Facebook is a platform that protects people's expression rights and fulfills their need for social communication. Authoritarian governments wish to stop it to prevent their citizens from having their own voices.
