A Chinese robotics startup has unveiled what it claims is the world’s fastest humanoid robot operating outside laboratory conditions. MirrorMe Technology recently introduced “Bolt,” a humanoid robot that achieved a top speed of 10 meters per second during real-world testing, marking a significant milestone in the development of high-speed humanoid robots capable of matching human athletic performance.

The robot stands 175 centimeters tall and weighs 75 kilograms, with proportions designed to mimic human anatomy. According to the company, Bolt’s design incorporates natural human body ratios, including torso length, limb dimensions, and center of gravity placement that closely replicate human physiology.

Advanced Engineering Behind the Humanoid Robot

Bolt relies on redesigned joint systems and a fully optimized power system to simulate natural human movement at high speeds. The humanoid robot combines anatomical proportions with advanced performance engineering, allowing it to maintain balance and control while moving at unprecedented speeds for machines of its type.

MirrorMe Technology’s achievement builds on the company’s accumulated expertise in high-performance robotics. The startup previously demonstrated its capabilities during a live television broadcast last year, when its “Black Panther II” robot completed a 100-meter sprint in 13.17 seconds, according to the company’s technical comparisons.

Competing With Boston Dynamics

The Black Panther II’s performance reportedly surpassed the speed capabilities of robots developed by Boston Dynamics, the well-known American robotics company. However, independent verification of these comparative claims has not been widely published. Additionally, the Chinese firm has positioned itself as a serious competitor in the global race to develop increasingly capable humanoid robots.

Meanwhile, MirrorMe Technology emphasized that its ambitions extend beyond simply breaking speed records. The company stated it aims to create a new generation of what it calls “super robots” capable of competing with and even exceeding human physical and athletic capabilities. Bolt represents a qualitative leap in motion control and dynamic balance for humanoid robots, the company indicated.

China’s Growing Robotics Ambitions

This technical advancement comes amid China’s expanding focus on robotics sports and applications. Beijing recently hosted the first edition of the World Humanoid Robot Games, signaling the country’s commitment to advancing this technology sector. The event showcased various humanoid robot capabilities and fostered competition among developers.

In contrast to purely industrial applications, MirrorMe Technology envisions its humanoid robot serving as an “intelligent sports partner” in the future. According to the company, such robots could help professional athletes push beyond their current performance limits by providing consistent training partners capable of matching or exceeding human speeds and movements.

The development raises questions about the practical applications of ultra-fast humanoid robots beyond demonstrations and competitions. Potential uses could include emergency response scenarios, military applications, or specialized industrial environments where human-like agility combined with superhuman speed offers advantages.
