The second day of Eid Al-Fitr witnessed massive public turnout and widespread participation across Dubai and Sharjah, as residents, citizens, and visitors flocked to shopping centers, parks, and beaches throughout both emirates. Government and private entities organized extensive celebrations and cultural activities that reflected the vibrant daily life and sense of security enjoyed by the community, according to local reports.
A tour conducted by Al-Ittihad newspaper documented the lively atmosphere in Dubai, where families practiced their traditional Eid Al-Fitr customs amid joy and social festivities. The diverse activities catered to all age groups and interests, with shopping malls, entertainment destinations, parks, and beaches serving as the most popular locations during the holiday period.
Eid Al-Fitr Celebrations Draw Crowds Across Emirates
Dubai shopping centers and prominent destinations recorded significant attendance from early morning hours, with family outings and group gatherings dominating the scene. Shopping malls featured artistic and heritage performances, along with traditional live music between 4 PM and 10 PM, while many retail centers offered discounts and price reductions to attract shoppers and holiday visitors.
Meanwhile, decorations adorned streets and roads throughout Dubai, including residential areas. Dubai Municipality coordinated with the Roads and Transport Authority to install elaborate ornamental displays that added to the festive atmosphere across the city.
Parks and Beaches Experience High Visitor Numbers
The moderate weather conditions encouraged numerous families to visit Dubai parks, which opened their gates at 8 AM on the first day of Eid. Popular parks including Al Safa, Zabeel, Al Mamzar, Mushrif, and Al Khawaneej reported large crowds from early morning until nearly midnight, the report indicates.
Additionally, Dubai beaches attracted swimming enthusiasts and sun-seekers, with strong family and youth presence recorded at Al Mamzar and Jumeirah beaches. The coastal areas provided opportunities for visitors to enjoy the sunny weather during the Eid holiday period.
Comprehensive Security and Emergency Services Deployed
Dubai Police implemented extensive security measures to ensure safety during the Eid celebrations, deploying 677 security patrols, 37 land rescue patrols, 29 marine security boats, and 2 helicopters across the emirate. The comprehensive plan also included 4 operations rooms, 145 ambulance stations, 48 bicycles, and 5 marine rescue boats to maintain public safety.
However, the emergency response infrastructure extended beyond police services. Dubai Ambulance provided round-the-clock coverage with specialized medical teams distributed across all areas, including intensive care units on standby and field support vehicles ready for rapid deployment.
The emergency services covered residential neighborhoods, shopping centers, tourist areas, public parks, Dubai airport terminals, and the Hatta region. Ambulance crews utilized various vehicles including emergency responders, rapid intervention motorcycles, marine boats, and air ambulance services in coordination with Dubai Police’s Air Wing.
Sharjah Celebrates With Cultural Events
In contrast to Dubai’s large-scale infrastructure deployment, Sharjah focused on cultural and entertainment programming at key locations. Al Qasba, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Heera Beach, Khorfakkan Beach, Noor Island, and the Heart of Sharjah attracted substantial crowds celebrating the holiday.
According to reports, Al Qasba area witnessed particularly high attendance, featuring live musical performances showcasing Emirati folk arts alongside classical and contemporary music. The diverse programming catered to multiple cultures and tastes, reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of the community.
The celebrations throughout both emirates demonstrated the stability and security that residents experience, with families expressing happiness about the festive atmosphere. The events included interactive activities, live shows, and unique experiences that brought families and friends together during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.
Authorities have not announced specific plans for continuing the celebrations beyond the traditional Eid period, though the comprehensive emergency and security infrastructure remains operational throughout the holiday. The extensive preparations reflect ongoing commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring smooth traffic flow during major events and occasions.
