Rixos Al Mairid Ras Al Khaimah is hosting a comprehensive celebration of UAE National Day featuring traditional Emirati crafts, cultural performances, and heritage activities. In honor of the 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates, the resort has launched a series of interactive workshops, live performances, and a special photography exhibition that showcases the country’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.
The celebrations, announced on November 17, 2025, invite guests to experience authentic Emirati culture through hands-on activities at the resort’s X Lounge. According to the resort, participants can engage with local artisans to learn traditional crafts including Sadu weaving, pottery making, and henna painting, each representing generations of cultural heritage passed down through Emirati families.
Traditional Emirati Heritage Activities at Rixos Al Mairid
The resort has curated an extensive program that allows visitors to immerse themselves in authentic Emirati traditions. Guests can explore the geometric patterns woven into Sadu fabric and discover the symbolic meanings behind traditional henna designs under the guidance of skilled local craftspeople. These interactive workshops provide insight into the techniques and stories that have been preserved across generations.
Additionally, the celebration features camel riding experiences, falconry displays, and live cultural performances. Traditional Emirati cuisine is also showcased throughout the festivities, creating a comprehensive cultural experience that brings together art, heritage, and community traditions at the Ras Al Khaimah resort.
Photography Exhibition Honors UAE Heritage
In collaboration with the Arab Gallery, Rixos Al Mairid is presenting a curated exhibition of 20 photographs by renowned British explorer Sir Wilfred Thesiger. The exhibition, running from November 21 through December 21, documents the landscapes, people, and spirit of the Arabian Peninsula. According to the resort, Thesiger’s work provides guests with a rare and authentic glimpse into the UAE’s historic heritage.
The exhibition holds particular significance as Thesiger’s meticulous documentation of Emirati life received personal recognition from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates. His photographic legacy continues to play an important role in preserving the nation’s cultural heritage for future generations.
Special UAE National Day Package Offered
To commemorate this important national occasion, the resort has introduced a special UAE National Day package starting at 1,950 dirhams per night. The all-inclusive package provides guests access to authentic Emirati experiences and meaningful cultural programs designed to honor the nation’s traditions and values.
Meanwhile, the resort has positioned itself as a cultural hub during the National Day period, blending creativity, heritage, and coastal hospitality. The combination of workshops, performances, and the photography exhibition creates multiple touchpoints for guests to engage with Emirati culture throughout their stay.
The celebrations at Rixos Al Mairid Ras Al Khaimah reflect the broader national observance of UAE National Day, which marks the unification of the seven emirates. However, the resort’s approach emphasizes participatory cultural education rather than purely ceremonial events, allowing both residents and international visitors to gain deeper appreciation for traditional Emirati arts and customs.
Interested guests can make reservations through the resort’s official website or by contacting the reservations team directly. The National Day programming will continue throughout the celebration period, with the photography exhibition remaining available for viewing through late December.
