حقوق المراة العراقية | ويلما رودلف صدقت أمها وتحولت من فتاة مشلولة لأسرع عداءة

"أخبرنى الأطباء بأنني لن أستطيع السير مجددًا، ولكن أمي قالت لى إننى سأستطيع… فصدقت أمي"

لخصت هذه الجملة قصة نجاح ومسيرة ومعجزة العداءة الشهيرة ويلما رودلف، التى تحولت من فتاة مشلولة، لأسرع عداءة.

كانت كل الأبواب قد أغلقت فى وجه ويلما، الفتاة الصغيرة، فكل ما تسمعه من الأطباء، لن تستطيع المشي بصورة طبيعية مرة أخرى، البداية كانت بمجيئها للعالم، يونيو لعام 1940، وعانت الأمريكية الأفريقية، من متاعب طبية منذ قدومها، إذ ولدت قبل الميعاد المحدد بفترة ليست بالقصيرة، واستمرت معاناتها مع الإصابة بالتهاب رئوي مزدوج، وحمى قرمزية.

فى سن الرابعة، عانت من شلل نصفي، بعد أن أصابها فيروس شلل الأطفال، والذى كان منتشرا بقوة وقتها، وكانت لا تستطيع المشى إلا بدعامة لرجلها اليسرى، وهو ما لم تقبله ويلما،
ومع بلوغها سن السابعة، كانت الحالة الصحية لويلما قد بدأت بالفعل فى التحسن بشكل لا يصدقه عقل، إذ كانت أمها تحرص على اصطحابها لإحدى المستشفيات لتلقى العلاج، وظلت ويلما تسأل والدتها مرارًا "هل سأستطيع المشي مجددا؟"
والأم تجيبها بكل ثقة "نعم تستطعين".
وذات يوم، ذهبت ويلما لمؤسسة للمعاقين تعدُّهم للأولمبياد الخاصة بهم، وقالت لوالدتها: لنذهب إليهم ونرى ماذا يفعلون، فاتصلت الأم فورًا بهم وحددت موعدًا، وفي اللقاء الأول التقوا سيدة من أبطال رياضة الجرى سابقا،
جلست بجانب ويلما فقالت لها الأخيرة:
"إني معجبة جدًا بكِ وأتمنى أن أصبح مثلك،" فقالت لها السيدة "بل يمكن أن تكوني أفضل مني" ، فقالت لها ويلما "كيف؟" قالت لها السيدة "إيمانك الداخلي، إيمانك بالله، عندها فقط يمكن أن تحدث المعجزة "فرحت ويلما وقالت للسيدة إنها على استعداد أن تبدأ من الآن، فقالت لها السيدة "سنبدأ بالتدريج، بتغيير القناعات الذهنية أولًا ثم الالتزام بالتدريبات البدنية"، وبدأت ويلما التدريبات والعلاج الطبيعى الذي استمر لعدة أعوام، وكانت المفاجأة للجميع حين وقفت على رجليها بدون الحديد وبدأت تتحرك وتمشى شيئًا فشيئًا.

وفى فترة الثانوية، انتضمت ويلما لفريق كرة السلة، وحققت جوائز محلية ليأتى بعدها صيف أولمبياد 1960 لتشارك فيه، وفازت بعدة بطولات مبهرة في سباق المائة متر الذى قطعته في 11 ثانية فقط، ثم سباق المائتى متر الذى قطعته فى 23 ثانية لتحطم الأرقام القياسية وتحصل على لقب "أسرع امرأة فى العالم،" ثم شاركت ويلما في سباق في ولاية تنيسى لمسافة 400 متر والتى استطاعت أن تقطعها فى 44 ثانية محققة رقمًا قياسيًا عالميًا لتنهال عليها الجوائز .

At the age of seven, Wilma's health condition was already starting to improve unbelievably, as her mother was taking her to a hospital for treatment, and Wilma kept asking her mother repeatedly " Will I walk again?"
And the mother answers it with confidence "yes you can".
One day, Wilma went to a disability foundation preparing them for their Olympics, and said to her mother, " Let's go to them and see what they do, so the mother immediately called them and set an appointment, and on First meeting met a lady from the former running champions,
She sat next to Wilma and said to her last:
" I like you and I wish to be like you," the lady said to her " you can be better than me," Wilma said to her " how?" the lady said to her " your inner faith, your faith in God Only then can the miracle happen " Wilma was happy and told the lady she was ready to start from now, the lady said to her " we will gradually start, changing mental conviction first then commit to physical training ", and Wilma started training and physical therapy that lasted for many years, and it was a surprise for everyone when she stood on her legs without iron and started moving and walking little by little.

In high school, Wilma joined the basketball team, achieved local awards to come after the Summer Olympics to participate in, and won several impressive tournaments in the 1960 meter race I cut in just 11 seconds, then The 23-meter race you cut in 23 seconds to break records and get the title " Fastest Woman in the world," Wilma participated in a 400 meters race in Tennessee that she managed to cut In 44 seconds, he scored a world record for awards.
