أُنشئت محكمة العدل التابعة لمنظمة المجمع الاقتصادي لدول غرب افريقيا بموجب أحكام المادتين 6 و 15 من المعاهدة المنقحة لمنظمة المجمع الاقتصادي لدول غرب أفريقيا ECOWAS :)
The Community Court of Justice was created pursuant to the provisions of Articles 6 and 15 of the Revised Treaty of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) :)
تتكون المحكمة من خمسة (5) قضاة مستقلين من ذوي الأخلاق الرفيعة ، يتم تعيينهم من قبل سلطة رؤساء دول الحكومة ، من مواطني الدول الأعضاء ، لفترة عضوية مدتها أربع سنوات ، بناءً على توصية من الجماعة. مجلس القضاء.
جدير بالذكر أن محكمة العدل المشار اليها تتألف من خمسة قضاة، منهم قاضيتان علي منصتها.
The Court is composed of five (5) independent Judges who are persons of high moral character, appointed by the Authority of Heads of State of Government, from nationals of Member States, for a four-year term of office, upon recommendation of the Community Judicial council.
it is worth mentioning that there are 2 women judges are sitting on its bar currently.
تعمل المحكمة على ضمان احترام القانون ومبادئ الإنصاف وفي تفسير وتطبيق أحكام المعاهدة المنقحة وجميع الصكوك القانونية الفرعية الأخرى التي اعتمدتها الجماعة
The Mandate of the Court is to ensure the observance of law and of the principles of equity and in the interpretation and application of the provisions of the Revised Treat and all other subsidiary legal instruments adopted by Community

منظمة المجتمع الاقتصادي لدول غرب إفريقيا (بالفرنسية: Communauté Économique des États de l'Afrique de l'Ouest)‏ اختصارا (CEDEAO) هي منظمة اقتصادية دولية تهتم بتطوير الاقتصاد في منطقة الغرب الإفريقي. تم تأسيس المنظمة في 25 مايو 1975. يقع مقر المنظمة في أبوجا، بنيجيريا. اللغات الرسمية للمنظمة هي الإنجليزية والفرنسية والبرتغالية. كانت موريتانيا من الدول الأعضاء ولكن انسحبت في ديسمبر من سنة 2000، وفي العام 2008 تم فصل غينيا. ولها خمسة عشر عضواً وهم:
بنين، بوركينا فاسو، الرأس الأخضر، ساحل العاج، غامبيا، غانا، غينيا بيساو، ليبيريا، مالي، النيجر، نيجيريا، السنغال، سيراليون، توغو.
the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Established on May 28 1975 via the treaty of Lagos, ECOWAS is a 15-member regional group with a mandate of promoting economic integration in all fields of activity of the constituting countries.

Member countries making up ECOWAS are Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’ Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Senegal and Togo

تتكون منظمة المجتمع الاقتصادي لدول غرب إفريقيا من مؤسسات ووكالات متخصصة. وتشمل المؤسسات: هيئة رؤساء الدول والحكومات ، والمفوضية ، وبرلمان المنظمة ، ومحكمة العدل التابعة للمنظمة ، ومجلس الوزراء ، واللجان الفنية المتخصصة ، وكذلك بنك ايكواس للاستثمار والتنمية (EBID).
The body of ECOWAS is made up of Institutions and Specialised Agencies. The Institutions comprise: The Authority of Heads of States and Government, The Commission, The Community Parliament, The Community Court of Justice, Council of Ministers, Specialised Technical Committees as well as the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID).
