Civil Magazine: Moroccan philosopher Mohamed Abed Al-Jabery sees secularism as not an Arab question; we have no ruling church. He proposes rationality and democracy as an alternative to this problematic concept. Is secularism, in its radical sense, valid in Islamic space, or is Islam itself – as Iranian thinker Abdulkarim Saroush goes – of a secular nature?

Al-Wadi: Muhammad Abed Al-Jabri is a central intellectual, but at the same time he was a politician and was a member of a political party. Clearly, the nationalist orientation was the political orientation of the Gabri.

I support Tarabishi's opinion that the Jabri betrayed himself and betrayed his approach to secularism. Indeed, the Jabri was secular, and the compound of ′′ democracy and rationality ′′ he put out as an alternative to secularism is essentially what we mean secularism in politics and society. Secularism means that politics and general human meeting are not subject to religion. Hence, instead of submitting to the authority of the clergy or ruling by the divine right, the political meeting is built on the basis of democracy and the governor of the people, and also, instead of resorting to religious text resort to science and reason to solve public problems.

Al-Jabri, also, rejected the secularism ' pronunciation ' but did not reject the secularism ' content '. But he discussed secularism as a politician, not as a philosopher. A politician talks to the public trying to win them and using a dual speech and dodgy through which he can communicate his own ideas, but after wrapping them in words, he suggests nothing else he wants to reach.

Although Al-Jabri rejected secularism and did not reject its content, his approach to reject secularism, in the Arab context, was very wrong and incorrect, neither religious nor historical. Unfortunately, others quoted Al-Jabri's wrong approach to secularism in the s and was at the height of his intellectual star.

Al-Jabri founded his rejection of secularism on the idea that there is no church in Islam, and accordingly, there is no conflict between religious power and political power, so there is no need for secularism as long as the religious authority and political power Integrated into Islam.

This is a reverse logic; it turns the problem into a solution. And he treats wrong as right. If it is true that political power and religious authority are integrated into Islam, that itself is the problem. It's the main problem in Islamic history that turned it into the history of wars, invasions, jihad, and massacres. This same integration is the cause of communal conflicts today.

The conflict in Islamic history was not a struggle between religion and politics; rather it was an employment of religion to serve politics and total control of religion. A religious-political authority was struggling with a religious-political authority as well. But the seeming excuse has always been religion and the hidden goal is politics.

There is no solution to ensure stability and social peace except by separating the religious authority from the political power of Islam. This can only be secular: establishing secularism in politics, establishing it in society, and establishing it in thought.

Then saying that there is no church in Islam is a type of word manipulation. The church was a symbol of religious authority trying to control things. And in Islam, like the rest of the heavenly religions, there is a religious authority that wants to control the matters of the world. So secularism must exist as a force that stands up to religious authority or puts it in its own spiritual and personal place, and prevents it from controlling public affairs.

From this perspective secularism seems more necessary than necessary in Christianity. If there is no secularism or separation between religion and political in Islam, this separation must be found either inside or outside Islam to save wars, massacres, and violations.

Talking about Islam is a secular religion similar to talking about friendly fire or euthanasia which is a lost hadith that combines two distinct terms both cognitively and practically.

There is no secular religion But there are landmark religions after emptying their public authority. The educated religion is the religion that has been redone into a personal and individual religion that only cares about spiritual matters and abandons any control in the public sphere. In addition, the educated religion is a religion that cares more about the world than the afterlife and its aim is to help the individual live a virtuous life. This is the concept of educated religion. I believe that Christianity has, to a large extent, become our teacher's religion opposite Islam, which does not recognize (yet) the independence of the world and does not recognize any authority other than its authority.
