القانون رقم(48)لسنة 1991م
بشأن تنظيم السجون
الرعاية الصحية للمسجونين
مادة(23): يجب على إدارة السجن أن تهتم بمراعاة الصحة العامة داخل السجن، وتتولى علاج السجناء وتوفير الرعاية الصحية والوقائية لهم وتعيين أطباء متخصصين بالتنسيق مع وزارة الصحة العامة.
مادة(24): تعتبر إرشادات وملاحظات الأطباء في الجوانب الصحية والوقائية والعلاجية والغذائية للمسجونين ملزمة التنفيذ لإدارة السجن. وإذا تعذر تنفيذها بسبب عدم توفر الإمكانيات وجب إحالتها فورا إلى الوزير للإحاطة والتوجيه بصددها.

On the organization of prisons
Health care for prisoners
Article (23): the prison department must take care of public health within the prison, handle the treatment of prisoners, provide health and preventive care and hire specialized doctors in coordination with the ministry of public health.
Article (24): Doctor s' instructions and feedback on the health, prevention, therapeutic and nutritional aspects of prisoners are mandatory for the prison administration. If it cannot be implemented because of the lack of possibilities, it should be sent immediately to the minister for information and guidance.
