حيث قالت صحيفة " تلغراف" أن المريض يدعى "دارين بلاند" ويعمل مستشارا في تكنولوجيا المعلومات، وكان قد أصيب بالفيروس خلال وجوده في احد منتجعات التزلج في النمسا.
و عند عودتهِ الى بريطانيا نقل العدوى إلى أفراد عائلته و عدد من سكان الحي، ثم سافر مرة أخرى الى ليلتقي بثلاثة من أصدقائه في النمسا ، اثنان منهم من الدنمارك و واحد منهم من الولايات المتحدة فأصابهم جميعاً.
فيما بعد و بسبب " بلاند" سُجلت مئات الإصابات و الوفيات بفيروس كورونا في النمسا وألمانيا والنرويج والسويد وأيسلندا والدنمارك.

Upon His return to Britain, he transferred the infection to his family and a number of residents of the neighborhood, and then he traveled again to meet three of his friends in Austria, two of them from Denmark and one from the United States and one from the United States.
Later, because of "but" hundreds of infections and deaths were recorded in Austria, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Denmark.
