يقول العالٍم للناس إن الفيروس لا يمكن رؤيته او الإمساك به لكنه موجود. ولكي يثبت للناس ذلك اخترع المجهر الضوئي ليثبت صحة كلامه.
من الطرف الآخر، يقول الكاهن للناس إن الله لا يمكن رؤيته لكنه موجود، وأننا يمكن أن نعرف وجود الله من خلال أفعاله.
لكن الأفعال التي تنسب للإله لا يمكن لا عقلا ولا منطقا أن تكون أفعال إله حكيم وقادر ورؤوف وخالق للكون.
إن الافعال المنسوبة للفيروس تتناسب مع معرفة الناس به، لكن الافعال المنسوبة للإله لا يمكن أن تكون افعال إله.
قال العالم للكاهن: لماذا لا تفكر في اختراع شبيه بالمجهر الضوئي؟ ربما يتمكن الناس رؤية الله من خلاله والإيمان به.
قال الكاهن للعالم: انت تحتاج لرؤية الفيروس حتى تعرف كيف تتفوق عليه وتوقف انتشاره. أما أنا فاحتاج إلى الإلغاز في وجود الله وكينونته كي تظل عقول الناس مقتنعة بوجوده.
لو رأى الناس الفيروس سيصدقونك، ولو رأى الناس الله سيكذبونني!
عندما يرى الناس الفيروس سيحترمون علمك، أما بالنسبة لي فلو رؤوا الله أو لم يروه فالنتيجة سواء… سيلعنون جهلي!
أنت تعيش على الوضوح وأنا أعيش على الغموض.
أما الله فهو فكرة. إذا سلطنا أضواء المختبرات والعلوم على الفكرة ستتلاشى ولن يراها أحد!
