دعت الممثلة السعودية مرام عبد العزيز عبر حسابها في تويتر إلى استخدام السجناء كحقل تجارب لاختبار الأدوية الجديدة ضد الفيروس التاجي، بدلاً من الفئران والقردة، حتى لو لم تكن نتائجها مضمونة، وأكدت أن هذا سيكون عقاب لهم على جرائمهم، قائلة: "لو كان الأمر بيدي، كان كل اللي يتم القبض عليهم خاصةً في قضايا تمس الأمن، ما اسجنهم بس وأخسر عليهم أكل وشرب وتأهيل، كان خليتهم حقل تجارب للأدوية الجديدة".
وأضافت: "حتى لو ما كانت النتائج مضمونة، منها عقاب لهم ومنها تستفيد منهم البلد.. هم أولى بالتجارب من الفيران والقرود اللي ما أذتنا بشيء".
وما يزيد الموقف سوءاً هو أن الفنانة ردت على الانتقادات الكثيرة بأن "إجراء التجارب السريرية يحتاج إلى متطوعين بشرط أن يكونوا أصحاء… فإن كان هناك مساجين في قضايا تمس الأمن، فلماذا لا يُستغلون بدلاً من بقائهم في السجن 'أكل ومرعى وقلة صنعة'؟ ".
نذكر هنا أن السجون في الأساس هي من أكثر الأماكن المعرضة لانتشار الفيروس التاجي بشكل أكبر لأنها لا تخضع لظروف التعقيم والتطهير المتكرر والمناسبة، وعادة ما يتم تكديس العديد من السجناء في مساحات ضيقة، مما يجعلها بيئة مثالية لانتشار تلك الفيروسات.
